So, here on DeviantART I call myself "NOTknownlight". This is a quick explanation for why I chose that odd name:

First of all, the first online name I ever used (back in Grade 4, if I remember correctly) was "Unknownlight". Why did I choose that name? Well, that's a completely different story that I'm not going to explain here. You can ask me if you really care. Anyway, on nearly every site I make an account for I use the username "Unknownlight". The problem is that the name, while not too common, isn't exactly rare either, and there's a surprising amount of other "Unknownlight"s on the internet as well. So, basically, when I made an account for dA I found that the name was already taken. Yeah, it sucked.

I was stumped as to what I should use as a username instead, I've used "Unknownlight" for so long that I never even gave a thought to other names. I asked my friend his opinion (yeah, I was that stumped) and he suggested "Knownlight". It made sense, but I didn't like it. I forget exactly what I said, but this is the gist of it:

"Hmm, I don't think so. It sounds wrong. I'm not 'Knownlight', I'm 'Unknownlight' and I'd like to keep it that way."

Re-read this:

"I'm not 'Knownlight'"

For some reason I noticed that and thought "Hey, that kinda makes sense...if you're not known, you must be unknown. I'm not Knownlight. I'm NotKnownlight. I'm NOTknownlight."

Yeah. That's how this username was born. Pretty stupid, isn't it?
